Students and the Transition ProcessStudents, you are the central focus of the transition process. It is your vision for your life that guides the creation of a high school plan that will help you attain your goals for your adult life in the areas of education, employment, and if needed, independent living. The transition process is required by law to help facilitate your movement from high school to the activities in adult life that will hopefully help you work and live in an environment that brings you pleasure.
On the left side menu, you will find a general question and answer document that will address some of the questions you might have about transition. The Transition Question and Answer information will also give you links for further information in certain areas.
Also on on the left side menu is a slide show, Students and the Transition Process, that will help you think about your goals for the future and the process needed to help you attain those goals. Hopefully, it will raise questions about what you want to do when you grow up and provide thought for future internet searches.
Be sure to check out the agency resources on the top menu. There you will find links to resources to help you in planning for postsecondary education, employment and independent living. You will also find links to state and federal resources as well as other helpful agencies and organizations.Remember, it is important for you to take an active role in attaining the goals you have for yourself. Talk to your parents and your teachers about how you can become more involved in helping to make decisions about your current educational program and your plans for the future.
